Annie honors clients’ plans by providing judgment-free support rooted in evidence-based care. Annie aims to create space for empowerment that encourages exploration of her client’s reproductive possibilities.
Annie is a DONA International trained Birth Doula. She is currently a candidate for Certified Birth Doula accreditation with DONA International, CD (DONA). Annie is also a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour yoga teacher.
Annie received a Master of Science (MS) in Global Health from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from New York University. Annie’s academic pursuits took her to Jakarta, Indonesia to study midwifery care at community health centers. Annie’s research background has grounded her practice philosophy in an evidence-based care model. Annie’s practice is also rooted in reproductive justice which aims to dismantle systems of oppression in order to maintain personal bodily autonomy.
Annie believes her role as a Doula is to be a calming presence of support and a source of knowledge. Annie brings her experience as a yoga teacher to her clients by incorporating breath, movement, and meditation into interactions. As a Doula without children, Annie brings an unobstructed perspective that centers the client’s unique reproductive story.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland; Annie lived in Shanghai, China and Durham, North Carolina before calling Washington, DC home. At her day job, Annie regulates tobacco and vape products at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). On a typical weekend, you will find Annie wandering around a museum or enjoying a meal at one of DC’s amazing restaurants!
